What We Do
My SDA assist in the formation of SDA Homes in high demand areas. Safe, accessible housing should be available to everybody, yet more than half of all Australians living with disability do not have access to accommodation that meets their needs. The situation is worse for those in regional areas. My SDA seeks to address the growing accommodation shortage for individuals with disability, by providing purpose-built Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) that caters for a range of requirements, including those with high physical support needs.
Our team combines expertise in property development, project management and disability care, to build, manage and lease SDA properties, providing homes where individuals with disability can have more freedom and independence, to live the life they want.

Supported Independent Living
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is housing that has been specifically designed for people who are unable to live in mainstream housing due to their extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.
Eligible National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants can receive appropriate support to live in the community, as independently as possible.
SDA funding covers the bricks and mortar costs of a home for individuals with a disability. It does not cover the day-to-day support services which a person may require to meet their needs.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government scheme that funds costs associated with disability. The scheme entitles individuals with a permanent or significant disability to full funding for support needs relating to their disability. The scheme is administered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and overseen by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission).
The scheme is entirely publicly funded and is not means tested. In the case of the NDIS, ‘insurance’ refers to the scheme’s use of proactive insurance principles to manage long-term financial sustainability, ensuring participants’ costs will be covered in the event they are born with or acquire a disability.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) refers to personal support services, designed to assist individuals with disability to live as independently as possible, while building their skills. These supports are provided to eligible NDIS participants, and are designed to encourage independence, self-care, and participation in the community.
Support with everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking and personal care are covered by SIL funding. Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is assessed and funded separately to SIL.
